If the top candidates are now coaching, then there will be no announcement until that team ends the regular season. If the top candidate(s) are not now coaching, then there should already be a new deal. The AD has been looking/talking for a month already.

So what you are trying to say is something like this:
"It's only taking so long to announce the new HC because it's a coach with a current team."
-OR-
"It can't be Gruden because they would have announced him already."
Is that where you are trying to go here? You know, just to keep it simple for us common folk.

DurkaDurkaCowaboy isn't the smartest guy. Let's just leave him to his thread.

Why is it taking 2 months to work out a contract with Gruden? Most coaching changes take about 2-3 weeks. What makes my supposition so wrong that you ridicule it?

I have no idea if we are getting Gruden or not but our admin, while pretty stupid, isn't dumb enough to immediately sign him and leave us open to a lawsuit from Butch for searching for his replacement before terminating him

Texas named Herman immediately after firing Strong and nobody really cared.
If anyone wanted to delay, it would be Gruden. He started the FFCA. Probably doesn’t want to look like he pushed Botch out.

Texas was talking to Hermans agent 2 weeks before firing Strong.
