FBI sting called ‘Operation Mud Diamond’
He was using child labor to illegally mine and smuggle diamonds out of Murfreesboro Diamond State Park.
Heard he was hard to catch, but FBI waited until after a rainy day to catch ol’ Hawgeye. Said he was knee deep in mud with a bottle of Bird dog whiskey in one hand and a cut off water hose in the other.
It was reported by ARSN that he would whack those kids with that water hose if a kid brought a rock that wasn’t a diamond. The hose usually would cause lacerations to the skin, but ol Hawgeye was smart, he didn’t need those kids to get infections, so he would pour a liil but of that Bird dog whiskey to clean the wounds put right back to work.
I know tl:dr
Here is the link to the story
