Was the skulldrag of Bucknell enough? Asking because it'd be REALLY big if Arkansas could somehow sneak into the top 25 before the UNC game so it would be a top 25 matchup. I think that kind of buzz around the program on a national scale would really help us out in the long run.

I think they're a legit top ten team right now.

Ten steals against a veteran, solid team is an incredible stat. This team is really damn good.

Probably a while just because...Arkansas will have to look good in Portland to get ranked IMO. I could be wrong of course, but pollsters over the last 15 or so years haven't cared much for Arkansas.

Exactly. I was worried it would take us running the table up to UNC AND beating them to even crack it. I still remember the year we started off undefeated while also beating top 10 Texas AND Oklahoma within a week and STILL didn't get ranked in the top 25. Granted that ended up being one of Pelphrey's worst years here but to not have been ranked with a record around 14-0 13-1 with two top 10 wins is insane.

It will.

Unlike the football poll, the basketball poll is "set" and the voters are damn determined to readjust the top 20 as needed and alternate from a pool of 10 for the final five spots.

The poll itself is meaningless, the RPI has well over taken it as far as importance. The had SMU ranked under Brown the year they went to the NIT.

They fell out of the rankings pretty quickly that year, though didn't they?

They were ranked the final week of the poll, and had been for the majority of the season.

Its truly meaningless now days, 20 years ago it was huge in getting a chance at a live telecast of a game, but today I'm not sure why they still have it.

I don't think it will matter too much. There aren't gonna be too many teams out there that compete with these guys. When they get to North Carolina they're gonna be out for blood and they're gonna roll them up too
