Mine would be Georgia, Alabama, Ohio St. and Penn St....in that order

Now, I know they aren’t going to have 4 teams from 2 conferences only, especially with ND, Clemson, Oklahoma all with 1 loss, and Wisconsin and Miami with no losses. But, in my opinion, those are the best 4 teams on 10-31-18.

What’s yours?

Georgia is not better than Bama.

Maybe...maybe not, but on this day, their body of work is better than Bama.

Won’t matter, those teams will face off after thanksgiving in the SEC championship game.

Notre Dame and Miami also have a chance to eliminate each other.

There’s so many different scenario’s that could happen over the next 5 weeks. Any team with 1 loss or less still have a very good chance to get in. I don’t think a 2 loss team or a 2 loss conference champ will make it this year.

Bama
UGA
ND (and I hate Cheater Dame) - They have the so-called best loss
OU - Iowa State was a bad loss but maybe not as bad as in past year

Clemson - Syracuse takes them out of contention for me
tOSU - Can't justify putting them in above OU when OU beat them head to head.

Wasn’t the Clemson QB hurt in that game? If he’s back and healthy the committee probably takes that into account. Similar to basketball committees thinking.

Based on how they're playing RIGHT NOW:

Bama
GA
Ohio St
Iowa St

The playoff committee needs to punish ND bc they don't have a conference championship game; just like they did a couple of yrs ago to the B12.

ND is going to play 6 ranked teams, including 2 in the top 10. That’s a better schedule strength than any of the others in contention for the playoff. If they finish with 1 loss ND is in.

one of these is out after the SECCG

It's going to be a rough year for the committee. The P5 are not playing each other and with ND in the mix 2 of them might get left out. tOSU hasn't played anyone but Oklahoma, Oklahoma hasn't played anyone but tOSU, the rest of the B1G hasn't played anyone. Same with the B12. Alabama hasn't played anyone. Clemson has a bad loss. So does Oklahoma and they've squeaked by a lot of the B12. But they beat tOSU. The PAC is getting no love. It's a mess

I don’t really get this line of thinking, but if it works for you go with it.

The playoff should be about getting the 4 best teams. If f ND is 1 of those 4 you put them in. They have also played a very good schedule. Much better than the schedule TCU played the year they were left out of the playoff.

Then why did the committee penalize the B12 2 yrs ago? Bc they didn't have a conf championship game.

If ND wants to be an independent then they should be independent from the playoffs...my opinion

Compare schedules for ND this year and TCU from that year. TCU needed a conference championship game because they hadn’t played a good enough schedule.

It’s the same reason than an undefeated Wisconsin team is 9th in this initial ranking, they haven’t played anyone.

I wouldn't include tOSU. They lost at home to Oklahoma.

I'd include PSU and maybe Wisky.

This would be my 4 at the moment, but I'd flip Georgia and Bama

Yeah. I agree. I think UGA, Bama, ND, and OU should be the top 4. Clemson’s loss to Syracuse is worse than Ou loss to Ia. St. There’s a lot of really good 1 loss teams. The eye test tells me Ohio St and Penn St are both better than Clemson, ND, and OU at this present time.
Things will shake out over the next 4 weeks.
