Like it or not, the team has played much better since Odom's post game presser

I know a lot of fans have said that's the thing that sent them over the edge with Odom, but it appears the team has responded.

It started with Kentucky where we actually looked like we'd played football before for the first time in awhile. Georgia beat us up, but we showed signs of life against an elite team. The last two teams are what you would expect good teams to do.

The offense has been on fire really (missing Crockett for most of this stretch) and the defense has looked at least a little better. Particularly the pass rush.

Above that though, the team easily could have packed it in after the Purdue and Auburn games but they haven't.

(For once let's try not to expand on this post and turn it into something it isn't. It's purely commentary on the last 4 games since Odom's controversial post game. That's it)

Fine, but what do you think about the subject matter. Agree? Disagree?

They have played much better since the Auburn game. If all it took was coach almost crying, he should’ve done that earlier.

I agree...can you stop trying to be purposely devisive with titles like that? I hope we win out, I hope Odom gets a third year, and I hope we win 10 games next year.

My mind is blown how divisive this section has been these past few months. You’re all pathetic sacks of shite that need to get a job or something instead of trying to insult each other like a bunch of beta males. Lmao.

Only truth my man.

BO was getting ripped apart here after he said what he said.

Although I never said anything personally, he deserved to be ripped apart at the time because the team was playing like straight garbage. The offense has looked much better over the past 4 games and we destroyed Idaho and UConn like we should have. Props for beating teams we should and improving against SEC competition.

I don’t understand your point though. You think this Mizzou team the first 5 weeks of the season didn’t look like the worst team in Mizzou history? And we still have a legitimate shot to go 3-9 although I think we go 4-8 at worst and hopefully 6-6.

the rankings of the teams everybody agrees we looked like shite playing

auburn 9
georgia 7
scar 32
purdue 57

the rankings of the team everybody thinks we didn't look quite so bad against

kentucky 56

the rankings of the teams everybody thinks we started to look better against

uconn 117
idaho 120

anybody see a pattern?

the rankings of the teams we have left

florida 29
tennessee 52
arkysaw 65
vanderbuilt 75

I'm going to reserve judgment on any improvements until after the flawda game. Although I think florida is over ranked and when the georgia game is factored in this week they will drop at least 10.

Which is where we are at as a program right now. If we can manage a win against a team that will finish fourth in an unusually weak SEC east I will admit we are definitely showing improvement.

outside of flawda the rest of our schedule is teams battling for last in their division. Maybe we will look improved against them.

We will finish the season having played 8 or 9 games against teams who are not in the top 50 including 2 that are not in the top 100 and 1 that is not FBS. We are hoping that we can somehow pull out 6 wins against that schedule.

and right now our only wins are against the two that are not in the top 100 and the one that is not FBS.

Improved?

I agree with everything you said except for Georgia. Lock unloded in first half and although I knew Georgia would pull away, Mizzou atleast made it a game against the soon to be #2 team. Besides Notre Dame, Mizzou gave Georgia a better game than anyone else they’ve played.

I’m no Barry guy, but I have seen pretty good improvement over the last 4 games. If it doesn’t translate into the next game against Florida and the following week against Tennessee then well, Odom deserves the criticism he gets. Also, UT and Vandy haven’t won any conference games this year like us. These are must win games for BO.

But is this where we are at? If he can beat the 2 teams outside of the top 100, the FCS team, and the 2 teams that also haven't won a conference game we are improved and he deserves to come back.

and I agree with you on the Georgia game but to me that just shows we have the talent to hang with Georgia but not the coaching. If Odom could have bothered to search for a couple of passible (pun intended) cornerbacks we would have had the talent to possibly beat Georgia.

Georgia ran for 370 yds. A better pair of CBs wouldn't have mattered.

Makes a thread claiming we'll lose to UCONN. We blow out UCONN. Proceeds to go on long diatribe about how bad UCONN sucks.

I've finally seen the problem though. Dude thinks we have a top 10 roster and it's only our bumbling idiot of a head coach holding us back from winning the SEC and marching into the playoffs.

There is bumbling going on. It is in the back end of the defense on 3rd and more than 6.

This. I don't know how he's going to recruit to the impression the early season left, but maybe a great finish can overcome it. And I hope he does. I liked the hire (without options under dire circumstances) and would love for him to succeed.

It's just a shame what built by Pinkel as a foundation has been totally destroyed - some by Pinkel, the rest by Odom. It could have been a great platform to ascend to the next level.

Georgia ran a lot around the corners. They could also chuck it out there on third and anything any time they needed to. Just like every other team with a pulse can.

but the original point. If we beat #117, #120, an FCS team, and two teams that haven't won a conference game are we improved enough?

So what you're telling me is that BO's is responsible for us:

1. Getting beat by a basketball school that we should NEVER lose to.

2. Getting our shite kicked in by an outstanding UGA.

3. Beating an FCS team (woooot)

4. Playing a solid game for the most part and doing what was expected, granted against a shitty P5 team.

I forget. Was that Knute Rockne type speech before the UK game or before UConn game?
