Massive buyout
Thats the lie
$8M+ for Ed's buyout isn't massive? Compare it to what Mizzou's buyout is for their coach who was similarly in low demand.

i mean it's massive in the sense that it's 8 million more than what it should be, but as someone else posted it's not out of the ballpark for SEC coaches and in fact is on the low end

Coach O has the second lowest 1st year buyout for all the sec coaches (not counting the ole miss interim)
When you are 13/14 in the sec, I have a hard time calling his buyout massive

His buyout ranks 31st on this list and doesnt include everyone's buyout:

Also, keep in mind that's at the end of his first season, buyouts go DOWN over the course of a contract. Odom's buyout is smaller but is also at the END of the 2nd year of his contract, not his 1st year, as well as him being at Mizzou, which is going to pay less as it is being Mizzou (he makes over $1.1M a year less salary than Orgeron). After the fiasco they had, nobody wanted to go there.
