Hurts is around league average in throws 15+ yards down field
He's also the best rushing QB in the conference rivaled only by Fitzgerald and Mond which PFF does take into account. Who cares if he isn't the best pro prospect. He's a good QB, probably the best in the SEC right now.

Which is a huge improvement. He's very good throwing to backs in the flat (which matters) and he's the best running QB in the conference and probably 2nd in the country to Lamar Jackson. And, finally, he doesn't make many mistakes.
So, add all those things up, and that's a pretty good college QB. He's not Baker Mayfield but he's had a good, improved season.

Many people like crapping on Etling, but he is 5th on that throws 15+ yards down field chart. And that is with 2 to 3 true freshman on the oline.

No, he isn’t the best quarterback in the SEC. but he is a solid player on the SECs best team. Good for him.
