Line opened at -7.5.
81% of the money is on Tigers.
Ole Miss super bowl.
Vegas set up awaits....get a grip of cash on those Rebels to cover.

If a line opens at -7.5, and subsequently drops to -6.5, isn't more money going to the underdog??

If they wanted more Ole Miss money they would take spread up not down.
They want more LSU money.....

But that doesn't align with what you're saying - 81% of money being bet on LSU. If that were the case, the line would be increasing.

Yes, but the OP only wanted to say Super Bowl. The rest was just filler.

He's saying that even though most of the money is on LSU, they are doing the exact opposite of what would be expected and lowering the spread even more. Basically begging people to take LSU. Unless a fix is in, this strategy makes no sense.

It's called "reverse line movement "
Look it up...Las Vegas pushes line to get more action on team it models to lose against spread.

Never heard of that. Fascinating if the 81% on LSU is true.

bookies using reverse psychology - don't know if I buy it
it will backfire on them in this game I believe
I will say this though; I will laugh my arse off if Ole Miss wins, even though I am betting on LSU; esp at 6.5
I kind of like the Rebs, even if they "identify as" sharks

I went with Ole Miss. Hard for LSU to be motivated two weeks in row. Team is still very young.

Ole Miss can't lose!!! If it wasn't for the other teams, Ole Miss would be the best team in the conference...

OM is done. They forgot to practice defense this year.

81% of the money or 81% of the bets placed?

I'd guess either the 81% you reference is likely betting % on LSU with the given spread and not the value of the bets on each side, ie: 3 x 1000 dollar bets on Ole Miss > 100 x 10 dollar bets on LSU. Or, odds makers anticipate a late surge on the underdog at the original spread and are advancing the line move ahead of the betting.
Either is interesting as both are indicators that the smart money is or will be on Ole Miss even at +6.5
