I'm more skeptical of Auburn than most because I don't think bad teams can automatically turn it on and become good with one year of experience, no matter how talented
And make no mistake, Auburn was bad. Outside of Bama the only SEC teams they beat all season were godawful LSU and Missouri. And then they somehow lost to Missouri in the conference tourney.
Maybe they'll be great but I need a little bit of proof first.
Bama had a solid team last year, Auburn games aside.

The thing with Auburn is they've been such a miserable defensive team the last few years and it doesn't seem to change at all. Maybe an extra year of experience together will help, but they just don't ever really seem interested or taught to play good team defense. I'm not sure that is going to get much better.
They will be very talented though.

I don't think we were all that bad. We lost a few close games and had some epic collapses to blow some big leads but outside of Florida, USC, A&M and Purdue we were in a position to win every game at the under 8 mark. Lack of leadership and poor defense cost us at winning time. I think that can be directly attributed to depending on 4 fr and a so. It's the same reason I'm a little less high on Alabama and Mizzou as others. You just don't know how young players are going to react in those situations until they go through them. We are a year older so I'm hoping most of those issues are solved but until they toss it up it's all just speculation.
ETA: What happened in the AU/UA games last year will have 0 effect on this year's teams.
