THAT'S NOT EVEN WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT.
In a twisted way, it is. We are, in a way, talking about which team is better and why, are we not? Isn't the argument that Alabama's 2/3's have played a lot, so your statistics would be even better than they are? Our point is....so would ours. In short, I would say the statistics are probably skewed for both teams close to the same. Things tend to even out.

None of this has anything to do with Bama having some mythical advantage because our backups play a lot.
The advantage Alabama has is certainly not mythical. Crap. It's coaching and players. But lets not pretend that the statistic angle has not bearing on an argument as to which team is stronger. Otherwise, why bring up statistics at all? It is to prove, or disprove that one team is superior to the other. And, it's legitimate. I don't think anybody would argue that Georgia is better than Alabama. but we would bring up statistics to show how good we are....Alabama would bring up statistics for the same reason. If not.....why talk statistics at all?

I've always thought "the #'s are skewed due to backups" argument was pretty week.
It has been a very pretty week. Great weather.
Our defense has given up 71 points this year, total, through 7 games. Almost 40% of those points were given up by our backups.
I have nothing else to add.

I'd say that those #'s are a pretty fair representation of both Bama's and UGA's defenses. I've always thought "the #'s are skewed due to backups" argument was pretty week.
They all even out. Out of curiosity....which is better? the 2011Alabama defense...or this years? Alabama and LSU had two of the best defenses I've seen in 2011. It was mind boggling. Almost surprising when anybody got a first down on either defense.

Come on. You don't really mean that.

Similar for uga too. You would know if you watched our games.

Efficiency rankings account for backups and garbage time pts.
It's Bama #1 and UGA not far behind at #2.
Both great Ds this year.
Why all the bit ching.

I'll tell you this...arguing with djs is like beating your head against the wall. I don't mean that in a bad way towards him....just that he is hard to convince.

Do the math yourself. You will get the same answer if you do it correctly.

I calculate that Missouri scored 21 points in the first half. How's my math on that?

Everybody wants to believe theirs is the best.
Wait until the argument starts about who has played the tougher schedule and that is why the statistics are skewed.
It's coming. I promise you....it's coming!

Good stat that essentially proves Tuscaloosa wrong. Tuscaloosa just likes to talk about stuff he doesn't know about.

I would say spot on! And I think our first string was still in when they scored the other 7 points, but I honestly can't remember.

That's part of the math I used. Keep it up. You are almost there

Ok. I gotta ask. Why does that prove Tuscaloosa wrong?

Good math
We sucked
Hopefully, Kirby will be able to identify areas where our young players need to work to get better
as things stand, if we play like we did yesterday, we would not even be able to beat mid tier teams like Clemson and Auburn
Our defense has a lot to think about and focus on coming into a bye week

Garbage plays, which usually involve backups, were removed.

Does it remove the two 60+ yard touchdown passes thrown by Missouri in the first half yesterday?
That doesn't seem fair.

No need in measuring our dicks guys. Both units are elite with Georgia's being a count hair better so far.
