Make him start paying his own insurance too. Get him off the rolls.

Sell his car.

Having his license suspended for 6 months will be the least of his worries.

So many assumptions. He will pay us back for every penny; Ticket fine, super speeder, insurance premiums. Doesn't mean that it won't suck for us fronting a couple thousand on top of the insurance premium increase.

Put it on a credit card, charge him interest, you keep the rewards.

Let me make sure i understand....

Your son was going 34 mph over the speed limit. And you want us to tell you how to lessen the penalty for your little snowflake so y'all don't have to pay so much money and he will still be able to drive 34 mph over the speed limit?

Piss off.

Isn't that how parenting works? He was irresponsible...he pays the price...and you pay the price for not raising a more responsible kid.

When I was a college sophomore I got an MIP (minor in possession)- my dad paid it, maybe $300-$400 in the late 90's. The next year I got a DUI. Paid every cent of it myself from a job I got as a result. I got straight A's from that point on and that was also the last ticket I ever received.
Not apples to apples, but my dad bailing me out didn't do me any favors.

I got a MIP also, parents never knew about it. Took care of all that shite myself, including highway cleanup duty.

Kids these days.

I would try pleading no contest. A buddy of mine did that on a similar ticket and effectively walked out scot free. You can basically never do it again, but it'll save you this time

I've seen Snellvile on the map, and have a hunting camp 15 miles from Louisville. Small world indeed.

Maybe the judge is up for re-election and needs an additional boost to his election campaign?

Yeah, they made me do defensive driving school after I went to court. Not a bad idea to be proactive about it.
The defensive driving class is a racket! I took the class and wasted all that time only to have the teacher read out the test at the end and emphasize the correct answer when giving us the choices. It was a 10 question test and even Barstools could pass it without the class. They just wanted their tree fiddy.

Did a local or GSP write the ticket? I’m asking for a reason.

Only help is that officer. Pleading down won't change that super speeder. Did he write reckless driving or just speeding? There is a difference.
His insurance will be a house payment for five years. He'll be adjusted to having a mortgage by then.

Be careful pleading no contest to anything in Ga. New concealed carry rules prohibit persons pleading no contest to crimes (not sure if traffic is included) from being granted a permit.
