Passes
Pass #1
3rd and 4 after the interception to start the game. Fromm appears to have zeroed in on Nauta before the ball was snapped and missed an open Michel down the left sideline. Nauta falls down and the pass is almost picked. While not the best decision, if Nauta stays on his feet, it's likely a completion for a first down if not a TD as Nauta was splitting the zone coverage.

Pass #2
After a missed block that led to a sack and a loss of 7 yards, Fromm hits an open Wimms 4 yards off the LOS to get back to the pre-sack position.

Pass #3
The next play is 3rd and 10. Fromm puts some touch on the ball and hits Hardman with an over-the-shoulder pass that would have been a 26-yard pickup, down to the UT 28 yard line. Instead, Hardman drops the pass and it's 4th down.

Pass #4
Following possession, 2nd and 10. Fromm tries to hit Wimms on a slant and it was just a bad throw that was way behind (looked like bad timing on the route or the throw or both). Nearly picked (twice) but he caught a break there.

Pass #5
Next play, 3rd and 10. Fromm hits Godwin on an out route down the left sideline 1 yard past the 1st down marker and Godwin does his thing to pick up some more yards before getting stripped and the ball (luckily) going out of bounds.

Pass #6
The next play, Fromm makes a quick throw to Wimms down the right side 5 yards from the LOS. Wimms sheds the tackle and picks up the first down.

Pass #7
Same drive. We just missed on the fake run/pass play and it's 2nd and 10. Fromm checks down to Swift who picks up 5 yards after a good move to make a defender miss.

Pass #8
Next play. After burning another timeout, Fromm throws a beauty to Wimms who makes a leaping catch in the endzone to go up 10-0.

Pass #9
Ensuing drive, 3rd and 5. Fromm targets Wimms again on a come-back throw that hits him in the hands. Would have been a 1st down but defender knocks the ball loose after the catch and it's 4th down. Looked like interference on the replay.

Pass #10
Next play to open up the 2nd quarter. Fromm tries to hit Ridley on a slant but the throw is too far ahead and results in a pick. It's possible that Ridley ran a bad route and Fromm thought he would be cutting faster than he did, or perhaps Fromm saw that defender standing where Fromm was going to throw it and went off-mark on purpose. Either way, it was a breakdown somewhere than resulted in an INT.

Pass #11
2nd and 7 with 8:21 left in the first half. Fromm just ran for a first down and the offense is driving. Fromm tries to hit Michel in the flat but he's covered. Looked more like a throw-away but it lands incomplete regardless.

Pass #12
Same drive. 2nd and goal. Fromm scans the field briefly before checking down to Chubb. A low throw causes an incompletion which was actually a good thing since he would have lost yards had he caught it. Wimms looks like he was open in the middle of the field but Fromm got rid of it pretty quickly so he probably just missed him.

Pass #13
First possession of the 3rd quarter. 3rd and 2 on the TN 32 yard line. Fromm hits Nauta in the hands on a quick out route for a 3 yard gain and a 1st down.

Pass #14
2 plays later. Fromm misses on a slant to an open Godwin. Godwin has a slight stutter that looks like it resulted in the timing being off. Ball hits him out front in the right hand but Godwin can't come down with it. Possible that if Godwin goes full-stride it's a perfect throw for a first down. The miss could be on Fromm or Godwin.

Pass #15
Last pass of the game for Fromm. 4:08 left in the 3rd quarter. Fromm rolls out to the right and finds an open Godwin sitting on the 1st down line for a 19 yard gain.

Runs:
1st Down Run
3rd and 7 with 9:19 left in the first half. Fromm gets flushed from the pocket and runs ahead 12 yards for a 1st down.

TD Run #1
Same drive and it's 3rd and goal from the 9. Fromm scans the left side of the field and doesn't see anyone open then feels pressure coming from behind and takes off for a TD scramble. 17 yards on the ground from where he was in the pocket.

TD Run #2
Next possession. 2nd and goal from the 4. Fromm with the zone read and pulls it down for an easy TD.

Mishandled snap
3:41 left in the 3rd quarter. Fromm has some trouble taking the snap and the ball flies up into the air. Fromm acts fast and pulls it down and runs for a 3 yard gain.

Zone read for 1st down
2 plays later, Fromm reads the linebacker and takes off for a 5 yard gain and a 1st down, keeping the drive alive that eventually results in a TD.

I am surprised that Eason was put in the game in the 4th TBH

I am having a hard time seeing him winning the job back from Fromm the way things are going now

I ALMOST thought we were going to see us run through the season & get to Atlanta without him and then see him start in the SECCG (ie - evil genius Kirby throwing his mentor a curve ball by starting a QB that they had not seen or prepared for

oh well, I am just enjoying the ride...

I would note too that the critique of Fromm not throwing more or gaining more yards might be because TN had the worst running defense (or damn near to it) in the SEC coming into Sat. My guess is the game plan was always to run early....run often.

JFSF really caught UT napping with his mobility.

This guy is going to be a great QB for us.

Pass #4. I think Fromm thought Wims would stop and cut back rather than continue across the middle.

Pass #10. Ridley ran a poor route. He ran a curve instead of breaking it off. In my opinion that INT was not Fromms fault.

Fromm is doing a terrific job so far, better than anyone should expect from a true freshman.
But, there will be a couple of defenses that will make us have to pass more and that is where the true test will come.
Auburn and Florida defenses will be tough against the run. But Florida pass defense is awful.
We will need our QB to beat these 2 teams.
