Depends on who you ask. Those that are objective and have a long term view think he has a lot of value. Those that like to go out and hire the Ed Orgeron types think he is the 100th best HC in the country. Personally I think he is a top 25 coach and we will still finish 7-5 or better which is what most predicted. Most normal people though 1-2 of this 3 game stretch would be a good thing and 9-3 would be a good season. 7-5 would be acceptable season. Anything less he needs to feel the pressure.

I agree. Most of our fans understand our program and have the patience to see the long term. A good many of our SEC brethren have a microwave expectation that means I want to win yesterday. State fans understand that in the SEC (aside from Bama currently) things tend to cycle. You are going to have average years, good years and an occasional bad year along with maybe a great year here and there. (More of a crock pot thought process).
Yes, a talent gap exists between State and Bama, LSU, UGA, Aub and Florida. I think Mullen is a good recruiter that has slowly closed the gap with those teams over 8 years. It is a easy to look at a 2 game sample and criticize him for falling short. I think you give credit to UGA and Auburn and move on.
Overall, he has done a great job at MState and has developed some continuity. Future recruiting looks good and odds for success are high over the next several years.
So no, his stock has not crashed. Disappointing losses, Yes but still behind our coach and team going forward.

You sound mad we didn't hire Mullen. If you were a fan of a real football program, you wouldn't want Mullen, either. Some of us who are intelligent football fans didn't want Orgeron for LSU, either.
So enjoy your 30-point beatdown of what was left of LSU's football program and getting boat-raced by the few teams left in the SEC that still have a pulse.
