Im the guy who wants the pitch. I'm the guy who wants the defense to try and string the ball carrier out to the sideline.

ALWAYS make the QB pitch. More chance of a mishandled ball.

I know that is where the home runs come for your offense. But I will gladly take my chances with our team speed trying to use the sideline as the 12th defender.

And if your guys are disciplined you will have help on the outside. You are correct in the way you would play an option offense.

Not everyone does that. Every coach has their own way (a conservative coach is afraid of the home run).

Regardless... you can't let a QB get comfortable with the looks. The defense and gaps need to change. Create doubt and hesitation.

One thing that I liked from Grantham in his second season is that he would bait the dive. Show something to the QB that tricks him into handing the ball to the B Back 17 times a game for 1 yard.

For every adjustment that our team makes, Johnson has 3 to throw back at us. Keep em guessing.

There are few things I love about COFH more than seeing the bug QB get hammered just as he's getting ready to pitch the ball out, causing a fumble.

It's a thing of beauty.
