A decade ago it'd be KC hands-down. But there has been so much growth in the STL market with Pappy's, Bogarts, SF, SD, etc. that puts this side above KC now.

Pappy's
Ive had it and it's pretty overrated. It's good, but not as great as people say.
I also always call in and order my Pappy's ahead of time for pick up because I'm a smart person who doesn't like waiting in long lines and I want ribs before they run out

KC still wins. Yep, ten years ago it was D1 vs. Class-6 HS. You couldn't even find a BBQ place in StL. Back then, some of the best was done by a guy cooking on a barrel in downtown StL.

Pappy's is good. It is overrated, IMO. I still like it. I just have a hard time saying it's one of the best in the country.

When visiting family in KC, I can't leave until we stop at Jack Stack.
I've even gotten it to go, on the way out of town.

Tiz true
And i'd put KC/STL bbq over anything from tejas,Carolinas,Memphis.
But as i tell people, you can make BBQ as good as these eateries, just have to want to make great bbq, not just throw shite on rack and pour bbq sauce on it.

I'm living in LA and they sell St. Louis BBQ everywhere here. Real popular here.

St. Louis style ribs, which are available all over, has to do with cut of the rib. They are long ribs as opposed to babyback ribs. It doesn't have to do with preparation. Are there any good rib places in LA?

I really haven't paid too much attention to rib places here, because of the variety of different ethnic groups this place has mainly ethnic restaurants all over. American food isn't that popular here unless you go to Black neighborhoods.
Does St. Louis still have Super Smokers BBQ?

Have you had Sugar Fire?

Only supersmokers left is in eureka. They overbuilt too fast.

Never heard of Sugar Fire. Believe me that LA is so big that you can put 10 St. Louis inside just the city of LA not including LA counties.

I've been back in town the last couple of weeks and we hit up Sugarfire today. Very good and love their variety of sauces.
I like Pappy's ribs, but Bogarts is my favorite.
