UT is a powerhouse in numerous sports.
Women's volleyball
Swimming and diving
Golf
Track and Field
Have been competitive in men's and women's basketball and softball

I do not think you can find a sport that UT never have competed in.

National Championships in Track and Field:

Men's

A&M - 1 indoor (2017), 4 outdoor (2009, 2010, 2011, 2013)
t.u. - 0

Women's

A&M - 4 outdoor (2009, 2010, 2011, 2014)
t.u. - 6 indoor, 4 outdoor (none since 2006)

A&M is the only track and field program to pull off the outdoor "triple double" (three peat in both men's and women's)

You are NOT a track and field powerhouse

Yes as a sport, no as branding via network

Swimming and diving

That has limited programming appeal

Golf

I think this will grow via SECN or PACN, but not big now
Again, single school network is not the same branding as multi school network

Oregon, Arkansas, LSU, and TAMU when I think of T&F

DISCLAIMER : Not saying texas baseball was not good in the past (so was USC) but since conference realignment and the rise of the conference networks, texas has been absent. Up to the LHN texas was in every year or every other year including 2009 and 2011. Since realignment only a lone appearance in 2014. TAMU was in the CWS in 2017. As for softball, TAMU > texas.

Competitive is not CWS, WCWS, M Final Four, or W Final Four. Not saying texas is terrible, just not elite, or near elite. You are still missing the point in terms of branding and distribution. If I want to watch texas softball I have to have the LHN which is limited to TX. If I want to watch TAMU softball, I can watch it anywhere in the USA on SECN.

If the SECN or BTN can bee seen across the USA 24 / 7 / 365 it means they get exposure when playing other teams. So say, Michigan softball plays TAMU softball it is likely ESPN picks it up, but if they do not, it will be on the BTN or SECN so viewers in both conferences can watch. Most of the folks watching Notre Dame football and Duke basketball are not fans of either school but tuning in hoping to watch them lose.

Any time a school is on a network with more than their home footprint they are getting free exposure for their school. That is the real beauty of multi school conference programming. SEC softball is growing not from local talent but from SECN being broadcast in the PTN footprint for free (usually on basic plans) and now the SEC is filling their softball rosters with west coast talent.
