If Texas joins the PAC 12 it will be because of what a connection with the top 4 research universities will bring the state of Texas.
Aggy joining the SEC did not bring any future industry to Texas. It is a decision based on sports.
UT's, if they joined the PAC 12, decision will be based on growing the tech sector in Texas and bringing more high paying jobs to the state.
UT's wants the state of Texas to be the greatest state in the country. This is competing with California.
