Sure TCU would have advanced if they beat Baylor but that is not the point. TCU was ultimately dropped because they weren't a modern blueblood program. College football has become a big business where these things have a big influence over who gets to be champions and winners. This is also why TCU got overlooked in 2009 and 2010. There is always a convenient excuse to justify why they are not given the opportunity in lieu of some other blueblood but at the end of the day politics play a significant role in college football.
