Why doesn't Ole Miss re-hire David Cutliffe?

He was arguably Ole Miss's most successful coach in the last couple of decades and he didn't cheat (that we know of) to do it.
He could bring the program back to a reasonable level (7-win seasons) and clean it up.
You guys were dumb in getting rid of him in the first place.

I don't see Cutcliffe wanting to come back.

Oh look...another poster that has no clue as to wtf he's talking about.

He doesn't cater to anyone and runs the program like a head coach should... with integrity and principles. OM cigar boys don't adhere to integrity... they prefer bribery, whether it be judges or football players thus neither want each other.

Because Duke is smart enough to know what their ceiling is in football. Ole Miss is too dumb and delusional to realize what their ceiling is

I don't think Cut would touch them now.

Cut loves him some Duke. He's not leaving that spot for Oxford.

Cutcliffe is living on Easy Street.
Why in God's name would he go back to OM?

David Cutliffe?
Cutcliffe was not fit to be a modern-day SEC coach. Low-energy, no recruiting, health issues. Our recruiting bottomed out so bad we hired a proven recruiter (Ed O) to replace him .
In fairness to him, he had a dumpster fire AD during his Ole Miss tenure. Ole Miss is much more competitive now in funding and overall program assets.
His moderate success at Duke is nothing more than anecdotal evidence that he would continue to be successful at Ole Miss, though.

Why would Cutcliffe return to that cess pool? He's got it made now.

I don't know many places where you can tell you boss to shove it and stay employed, which is basically what he did.

Cut wouldn't come back. It would be a lateral move at best.

Eli isn't gonna be around to make David look good.

Cutcliffe was stubborn. His defense in his last year sucked and he refused to get rid of his DC or make any changes to right the ship.

I could see Coach Cut going to Tennessee again if Butch flops this year.

Because he is like 107.

Cutcliffe is much smarter than that....

dumb in firing yes but at his age and with his health reasons I think they are going to look elsewhere. Who knows the young guy now may keep it.
