However, maybe you should think just a little bit about this kind of statement?

Fans can get get carried away with 1st round projections for sure. But he simply said multiple NFL starters on every level of the D.
quote:

LSU has multiple future NFL starters at every single level of their defense and the best DC in college football. They are every bit as good as FSU. I truly think they are better but time will tell.

That has never not been true at LSU to be honest. Even in our "down years."

2013 was the worst defense we've had in a while. We are a lot better right now. From that 2013 Defense:

-DT Ego Ferguson: LSU Starter
2nd round pick Chicago. Played in all 16 games in 2014, starter in 2015 before injured week 4.

-DT Anthony Johnson: LSU Starter
Undrafted former 5 star. Signed and played in 7 games for Miami before injured. First career start for the New England Patriots in 2016. Currently with the jets

-DE Danielle hunter: LSU starter
3rd round pick Minnesota. Starting DE, Tied for 3rd in NFL with 12.5 sacks in 2016. NFL all rookie team 2015

-LB Kwon Alexander: LSU Starter
4th round Tampa bay. Starting MLB. All rookie team 2015. 238 tackles in two seasons

-LB Lamin Barrow: LSU Starter
5th round pick Denver. Played in all 16 games recording 1 start.

-CB Rashard Robinson: LSU Starter
Dismissed from LSU after 2013. Drafted 4th Round by SF. Current starter

-CB Tradavious White: LSU starter
1st round pick Buffalo. Current starter

-CB Jalen Collins: LSU part time starter
2nd round pick ATL. ATL starter currently serving suspension.

-S/CB Jalen Mills: LSU starter
7th round PHI. Current starting cornerback

Honorable mentions

-LB Deon Jones:
Did not start for LSU in 2013. 15 tackles including TFL against A&M in 2013. 3 tackle games against Auburn and Iowa
2nd round pick ATL. Starting MLB, NFL all rookie team 2016.

-DE Kendall Beckwith:
Did not start for LSU in 2013. Freshman DE pass rusher in 2013. Had 4th qtr sack fumble against UF to seal game. 11 tackles on year.
3rd round Tampa '17. Listed as 2nd team inside LB week 1. Projected to start in middle alongside Kwon this season.

Keep in mind 2013 was a down year on defense after the departures of all our 2011 defenders. As a result some of these guys were not high picks but many turned into very good NFL starters,
Our defense has caught back up, especially in the trenches, and is pumping out high end defensive talent this past and upcoming draft.

Look to see more 1st rounders, like Adams and white this past draft and [at least] Key this upcoming one. similar to the 2010-2012 squads when we could have 5 on the field at any given time
