The bottom line is you're either hiring an up and comer or an established coach. Among established coaches, he's the only one available with multiple P5 conference titles and a national title.

There isn't a more proven candidate available. If that's the type you're aiming for, he's the best option. His resume is bested only by Dabo, Meyer and Saban among active coaches.

Jimbo wasn’t on my radar or wish list because I didn’t think he would leave FSU. Not 100% sold on Jimbo but pretty close. If he wants the job and we can get him we absolutely have to get it done. You just can’t pass up the opportunity to get someone with his experience and success on the national stage.

Do have some concerns about the off field issues at FSU with him at HC. Might be more of a FSU thing that started under Bowden...not sure. If I had my choice with no obstacles Fisher not my top choice but I am much more excited about the prospect of Fisher taking over than I ever was about a handful of people being mentioned including Chip Kelly, etc... wanted nothing to do with him. I can get behind Fisher and will never look back no matter how it turns out. SOLID choice IMO.

An argument against Fisher is a pretty difficult case to make unless you know exactly who the other choice actually is.
