Rainfall amounts of nearly 30 inches have fallen across parts of the Houston metro over the last 24 hours - over half of it within the last 8 hours. Houston is under water in what will become the worst flood event in Texas state history and one of the worst United States flooding disasters in modern history.

Additional rainfall totals of 20 to 30 inches are expected through Thursday - for a storm total of 45 to 60 inches in parts of Southeast Texas. This is only the beginning of this flood event and I'm afraid that we truly cannot imagine how much more severe it will become.
