I haven't seen confirmation, but I think Merkel is now a co-counsel for Barney. Anyway, in Barney's response, he discusses how Athlete 39 received $11,000 as acknowledged in the official NCAA papers sent to him. Once again, Barney isn't just making this stuff up, he read it from the official documentation from the NCAA. It's allegation 16. LINK /
