We had 2 really good kickers back when I went to HS (1998 to 2002) and 1 got a full academic ride to Samford (where he went) and several other schools outside the state, the other was an average wrestler (HS had a powerhouse wrestling program those years) and got a full ride on a wrestling scholly and of course he took it.

I want to know more about these two.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Monday following a scrimmage is when you can expect some changes for Alabama football, but there wasn’t a ton of movement during the viewing period.

The Crimson Tide worked outside on a humid Tuscaloosa day.

Injury updates

- After being held out of the scrimmage, running back Najee Harris (hamstring) participated in drills. Harris showed no signs of being limited during the viewing period.

- There was no sign of running back Josh Jacobs. Jacobs was held out of a scrimmage due to a pulled hamstring. Alabama coach Nick Saban said it would take a few days for Jacobs to recover.

- Linebacker Jamey Mosley (concussion) was back with his position group, but he was still limited.

- Linebacker VanDarius Cowan (back) also was back with his position group. Cowan participated in some drills.

What we saw

- The first-team offensive line remained the same coming out of the first scrimmage: Jonah Williams at left tackle, Ross Pierschbacher at left guard, Bradley Bozeman at center, Lester Cotton at right guard and Matt Womack at right tackle. This is another step toward this group taking the field to start against Florida State.

- The second-team offensive line featured freshman Alex Leatherwood at left tackle, Dallas Warmack at left guard, J.C. Hassenauer at center, Chris Owens at right guard and freshman Jedrick Wills at right tackle. Saban said Saturday that the team would invest a lot of times in Wills and Leatherwood this week to see if they can help the team this season.

- There was a slight change on with the first-team secondary when Alabama worked on dime. Hootie Jones stepped in at safety next to Ronnie Harrison. Jones and Deionte Thompson are competing for that spot. The rest of the group was the same: Trevon Diggs at left cornerback, Anthony Averett at right corner, Tony Brown at star (fifth defensive back) and Minkah Fitzpatrick at money (sixth defensive back).

- The second group had Nigel Knott at left corner, Levi Wallace at right corner, Jared Mayden at star, Hootie Jones at money, and Deionte Thompson and Xavier McKinney at the safety spots. Kyriq McDonald shadowed Mayden, Keaton Anderson shadowed Jones, Daniel Wright shadowed Thompson and Bo Grant shadowed McKinney.

Me too. Getting a full ride in wrestling in virtually unheard of. Divided up more than baseball. I think on a top program D1, few have full rides.
