Which is the lowest estimate right now. Remember, a decade ago CTE wasn't considered a major problem for football players. Soccer is just beginning to realize they have a growing problem.

Sure that sport can back off and keep players out of the lineup to reduce the likeliness of this developing but it is a real problem that is only going to grow.

I don't buy that "heading" the soccer ball is the cause for CTE. There are a lot more violent shots to the head from other heads, elbows, or hits to the ground that a soccer player will encounter during a match. A chess player banging his head with his hand out of frustration is the same force as heading a soccer ball
