The SECr is going to be a shite show tonight but I'm really curious how the school was just now doing this.

quote:

Bjork told Yahoo on Friday that after receiving the information from Mars, the school had pulled records of Freeze’s cell calls and plowed through 39,000 calls without finding another instance of a call to the 313 number. However, the school kept digging through the records and found additional troubling information.

On a side note, maybe that golden parachute to Nutt wasn't such a bad idea after all because he just fricked Ole Miss out of anger.

No idea but this is about as bad as it can get for them. They get no credit for getting rid of Freeze to lessen the penalties. They were ride or die with him and well.......the NCAA is going in hard.

They haven't been able to get it up since SMU. Penalties will be light.

Here is why the NCAA is likely going to drop the hammer on Ole Miss....They've been supposedly "self investigating" their football program over the past year or so and they just now decided to go through Freeze's phone records?

What a bunch of idiots

That's kind of my thought as well. They clearly weren't doing anything other than looking the other way and trying to do whatever it took to keep him.

Apparently Hugh had redacted a ton of his own calls from the records, so they say. I'm sure the entire chain of command knows about all this, they just missed one and Houston Nutt's attorney's found it.

I imagine you're right on that one. It's amazing what one little mistake like that can do.

The thing about the golden parachute was the majority of the money was already Nutt's or would have been from his anuity in his contract.

The buyout was lessened by allowing him to publicly resign compared to being fired based on the figures in his contract.

While it angered the fanbase, it was a brilliant move by Long. Furthered by Long never mentioning Nutt or the problems with the program that was left behind after he was gone.

Long has been playing chess for a while now while the rest have been playing checkers.

I know I should feel guilty, but I am so blissfully laughing right now. This is glorious.

I read Nutt's attorneys comments and ROTFL...

Nutt was "Besmirched" What The.....

That little backstabbling piece of doo was besmirched? Really...

I remember when he was hired by OM and we were on vacation. Sitting on the beach with some Arkansas gear. OM fans were laughing at us for hiring our coach away. all I said was, "Just wait, you will wish you never saw the dude"... and...

False

John White was in charge of HDN golden lifeline, not Long. Dale must be snorting meth again.

It's worse than this. Former assistant coaches are talking to the NCAA about their previous boss. This may not ever become public, but coaches with connections to the state of Arkansas have given sworn statements.

I wondered when this was going to come up, this is absolutely correct. Now, Is the NCAA neutered or are they finally going to use the info in a major way. North Carolina and Louisville have been fairly left alone, what will OM get?

Technically, Arkansas fans gave nutt the idea, after FOI his records and discovering his affair with donna Bragg.

So in a roundabout way, those FOI's have wrecked Ol Miss 10 years later.

True story. I remeber how shitty that night was when Petrino got fired. I'd like to not have to experience that again.

Now just imagine instead of just losing your coach. You also had to deal with a bunch of penalties on top of that.
