True. That venue was electric and like most games even during our dark times was sold out. We weren't terrible that year.

At least pick a game that you could get away with making that up about. Florida in 1997, for instance. We had just gotten blitzed by Arkansas and people were totally meh.

That 2005 Florida game had been pointed to for 8 months. That place was unhinged.

Aside from going 4-9. Lost a lot of close games. Including two OT games that went three or more OT periods.

You sound mad, maybe you should take a break from this board.

I know you fear that Bama won't be that good this year, but damn.

We were definitely not good but we hung in there with most everyone.

They went 12-1 in 1994, 10-3 in 1996, 10-3 in 1999, 10-3 in 2002, 10-2 in 2005, and 12-2 in 2008. That's winning 10+ in 50% of the time frame you outlined.

your coaching hires during that time were questionable

They were God awful. I'll give you that, but every one of those coaches who played against Florida during that time (including Mike DuBose and Mike Shula) beat Florida during that time.

I mean, you guys had some awful seasons in that span.

3 really bad years. 6 years of 10+ seasons. Looks like failure was more the exception than the rule even during the most down time in over 50 years. It wasn't up to standards, but I think most SEC teams would have been thrilled to have 6 seasons of 10+ seasons during a 12 seasons stretch.

quote:

will tell you, I was at the Florida-Bama game in 2005 when Prothro broke his leg and Bryant-Denny was not full.

This is bullshite. Go to the 17 minute mark - while Bama was kicking Florida's arse - and watch the scan of the crowd.

9-3... you guys would have gone 8-4 if refs had the balls to call holding penalties on you.

You were only off by 4 games. Thats good for major league baseball at least.

You responded to my comment to the Oklahoma fan about the 2003 game.

Lighten up. I feel awful for the kid. Your fan base and coach did that to him. I hope he has made a good living since then since you guys did that to him.

I think we cracked the code on Forever. Watching his team get taken to the woodshed by Mike Shula made him unravel. Then, the last 6 Alabama beatdowns of Florida have just continued to pull on the string that is his sanity.

We should probably let him have these little victories, no matter how false they might be. It's the charitable thing to do.

I think it did. He couldn't help but call 1999 a fluke too. Spurrier losing twice in a season to Mike Dubose. Lol.

We subsequently beat you guys down two times in a row after that game. Did you forget? You guys forget a lot of bad shite that happens to your team.

You're drifting into aggy territory with this statement.

You only sold out 1 of 7 home games in 2004. That one game was the last one against Auburn.
