I hear you and those are some proud awards - damn. My real dad (died when I was very young) was a combat vet who was in 101st Airborne Div. in Vietnam (Infantry). When I think about the things he did it blows my mind.

Sorry for you loss, he was a hero, I was at least able to ask my father about his tours in Viet Nam, he was candid with me and it sucked to hear what they experienced, it also was heroic.

Thanks. Even though dad died young, I was lucky that he wrote letters like crazy during Vietnam. Each one counted down the days til he could come home. A lot is just family stuff but other stuff told some truths I thought I'd never find the answer to.
He was also a tech lover and made tapes to send to Mom along with a mountain of letters. My mom still has them but I haven't listened to them yet. Part of it is because she insists on being there when I hear them - she wants to provide explanations - but I suck so bad at facing emotional shite that I haven't done it yet. I need to though Mom isn't getting any younger.

It's time do it, don't wait! Honor him and read/listen to them, it will be hard on you and your mom, if she has made peace then do it alone!
He sent my mom 8 track tapes that she never let us listen to, the early version of sexy texts that took months to receive...lol

There's probably stuff like that with my dad too.
I just can't stand crying in front of other people and I know I'll be like a little bitch when I listen. I've never heard his voice and even that will shake my world. Facing my Dad's ghost is something I've been talking to friends a lot lately and every one of them has said the same thing: time to do it. I just have to find the courage.

We're in a mess that may take years to correct and a lot of delusional fans who believe the lies coming from our administration. UT fans expect and demand results. They won't stop until they get what they want. Rebel fans have settled for mediocrity for so long it's ridiculous! We had lots of good options for the HC position when we hired Freeze, but he was the guy from the start. Now look where we are! We're back to being bottom feeders and have been disgraced by Bjork & Freeze.
