They're not even the best program in their own state

Honest answer: I don't know if CBJ will ever get there. We came close to beating BAMA in '15 but that's about it.

Saban is a generational coach who few have beaten and most that have can cite a metric ton of luck. Like Bear never beat Neyland ("Thank God the Old guy finally quit" was what he said when Neyland retired) we may have to wait things out.

Also, what worries me about coaching is that we've always had our best success under Tennessee guys. If CBJ were fired, I'd push for Tee Martin HARD.

For years Mizzou blocked lowly Springfield from becoming Missouri State because the didn't want competition.

I was born in MO and lived there for half my life, don't pull that bullshite.

Not sure I agree on Tee, but in this day and age, it isn't about "who coached here" I think that time may be past, but who knows, I am no expert.

They have a Nutt problem and a NCAA problem, it's understandable.

Understand but Tee is a rising star right now. He's OC'ing the USC Trojans and is gonna be a HC very soon.

While I will always think Al deserves the statue, I am not opposed to him coaching here, but there is some bad blood to be put to pasture from what I remember.

You talking my man Al Wilson? I'd give anything to see him play college ball again.

The bad blood is mostly fans not understanding that the media put both CBJ and Tee on the spot when Jones was hired. Tee was respectful of our wishes and came in for an interview but he'd just moved to So. Cal. No way he was going to pick up and leave for the same position here. If we'd sweetened the pot it would've been different.

Al is my favorite play I have seen play at Tennessee! If Tee's heart is really in it, then I am all for him coming home.

Agree on both counts. Al Wilson - lawd have mercy. I've never seen a player who could literally will his team to victory the way he did. He was simply amazing.

No I wasn't, I am envious!!!

FTR I applied to UT and got accepted in 1987, but due to my father being in the military and moved from Nashville to MO the out of state tuition was a no go, but I can tell you I pissed a lot of people off posting UT's record on my Mizzou dorm room grease board.

Ended up with a hard shel degree from Maryland, but my blood has been Orange since I discovered college football.

I'm one of the luckiest UT fans ever. I was there with both Peyton and Tee. Hell even Holdsclaw was there back then and I knew a few of them (had class with Holdsclaw and it shocked the shite out of me when she had a violent episode, girl was shy and sweet as hell when I knew her) -- not well but enough to know their personalities. That was an era where we were giants at everything.

Out of state tuition is crazy. I can understand why it was a no go.

I did have classes with Anthony Peeler and Doug Smith at Mizzou, that was fun.

I miss my trips on the Highway to Heaven in the Big Orange Caravan, from Nashville to Knoxville. Hell I was a member of BOWO (Big Orange World Order) on AOL back in the day.

In shitty Oklahoma, no elevation here and too far from the sugar sand of the redneck riviera! I am here because I want to be near my parents lost my father a few months ago. I will end up on a beach one day though.

Understand that completely. We moved to a shitty county to be close to ailing parents as well. But time is precious and I wouldn't trade time with a loved one for the world.
