I think a lot of people forget that we made it to the finals in 2012 after winning it all in 2010 and 2011. It just doesn't stick out as much following the b2b titles. Man what a run that was and it feels so long ago. Those early 2000 teams were awesome and should have won a title.

Similar to our 1998 team. After winning back to back in '96 and '97, we started 2-0 in the '98 CWS. Then USC came out of the losers bracket and beat us twice to advance to the championship game against a depleted Arizona State. Despite coming that close to a 3-peat, that 1998 team faded into the irrelevance of ancient history.
