CFL salaries are hard to track down. There's really no easily-understood salary scale. But 2017 minimum is $53,000 for starters, though practice squad and other bench-sitters can be as low as $32,000.

Stud quarterbacks can make $250k to 400k (only a couple do, though.)

Team average salary is $80,000, but the top dogs skew the "average" high.

But it should be noted that living in the livable cities of Canada is more expensive. Half of the teams in the CFL live in 5 months out of the year snow arse deep to a tall Inuit. The others are 4 and a half months of the same.

Sounds like a pretty good living to me if you can endure the brutal winters. Probably make more up there than taking some other job. I think the season is over by October or November, so maybe some of those guys move back to the US in the winter. Seems like none of those players never even get a chance to make it to the NFL. Flutie and Moon are the only names I can think of that made it.
