SMU didn't get the death penalty b/c what they were doing was so bad. They got it b/c they had already been caught multiple times and gave the NCAA the finger as they kept doing it.

That is why Ole Miss is playing a dangerous game. It's not the violations that could ruin them, it's the flagrant contempt they are responding with.
