quote:

“Embrace The Suck,” Quinn repeated after he and his staff took rookies and first-year players through Friday’s minicamp. “Eat a crap sandwich with a smile. This is going to be hard. Your choice: It’s a victim’s mentality or a warrior mentality. It’s like, ‘I know this run is going to be long, and it’s going to be really hard. But here I go again.’”

We are children of Atlanta sports.

The Suck is our entire existence. The Flames, Bird, Puckett, Hrbek, Gladden, Brett Favre, Eric Rudolph, Leyritz, Jeff George and June Junes, Eric Gregg, Eugene Robinson, The Spirit Group, The Thrashers, Iso Joe, Brooks Conrad, The Packer Game, The Niner Game, The September Collapse, Josh Smith for 3, Kimbrel in the Pen, The Infield Fly, The NYPD, Dellafvckfacedova, Tom Brady

Bring it on. We live for pain.

Well that was the biggest one. They win the world series regardless of Hrbek if Smith doesn't get fooled. At least, I think he could have scored.

I was allowed to stay up (6 at the time) for the entirety of Games 6 and 7.

The scars formed early.

Oh, well it's not that close, I was born in............April 1985.

If you grew up from 85-92 off of Moores Mill Road we may have an issue here.

I heard "Embrace the suck" a thousand times while at Fort Benning. Does Quinn have a military background?

I mean I see where a bombastic title like "Unabomber" fit better into the syntactical strategy than another two word name

I always juxtapose those 2. Guess it was just being a kid with 2 dastardly domestic bombers running around that fused them together in my brain.

Off the top of my head, no. But coaches, especially football, will get phrases and motivational tactics from the military all the time. I imagine he's had ex seals or special forces and the like in to talk to his teams over the years.
