I'm not saying USC should keep Holbrook or am I saying he's the next Tanner, but to be fair - what Tanner did the 3 years prior to his moving to AD can't be expected to be duplicated by anyone - it was an amazing 3-year run predicated upon a couple back-to-back great recruiting classes.

The 5 years prior to winning the first - they failed to get to Omaha.

Again - not saying USC should keep or not keep Holbrook, but many fans in the SEC have completely unrealistic expectations.

We have now lost 7 SEC series 2 out of the past 3 years. We NEVER lost this many series during any season under Ray Tanner, even during Tanner's "bad" years.

understood. at the same time, when your baseball coaching pedigree is the 3 men sitting to the left of Chad

...dating back to 1970 with native son Bobby Richardson - it's okay for Gamecock Baseball and its fans to expect more than what Holbrook has produced.

the characteristics/traits that exist with Holbrook's teams couldn't be further from those which Richardson, Raines & Tanner displayed in playing championship baseball - year in, year out.
