AU's recruiting is better than ever in school history. They've consistently pulled classes ranked in the 6-10 range for years. AU should be fielding teams ranked in the top 10 at the end of the season consistently as well, and they aren't.
The talent is there, the facilities are there, the fan support is there, the money for football is there.
Why should Auburn shoulder the blame for Saban becoming the best in the business now?
Rankings are determined by wins. Auburn has consistently been out recruited by LSU and Alabama. Based on Recruiting rankings that means 2 losses...I believe we technically get out recruited by uga in that same time span but it is closer. That should be a 3rd loss based on recruiting. Most years that pushes you out of the top ten rankings. Based on recruiting since 2010 I believe we rank 4th or 5th in the SEC. So if it equates to poll rankings that should put Auburn as a team which generally finishes in 12-25 range.
Auburn isn't much different than we have historically been. We are a top 15 program and most years have that type of potential. Doing it in bama's back yard is impressive, but we also benefit from our location despite not being the state school so to me all of that talk is basically a wash.
At the end of the day Auburn should win 8 games most years. If we catch some breaks we should compete for the SEC. If not we don't.

So are you accusing LSU and UGA of buying their coaches a cushion also? OR is it just Bama that has to buy recruits to out recruit AU
