LSU and Ole Miss want the SEC offices out of Birmingham
I understand where you are coming from but I think you are missing the power behind who wants Texas and Oklahoma in the SEC
I believe it to be ESPN. I believe ESPN has the power to get what they want in college football because truthfully I believe they have been the ones who have been pushing this conference realignment since Va Tech went to the ACC in the early 2000's

OM is far more concerned with keeping the NCAA out of Oxford at this point, they are a bit preoccupied.

They may talk that way, but if it ever moved it would be east to Nashville or Atlanta. Rebs and Tigers may blow off steam now and again in public but I do not believe any of it. when it comes down to it the SEC knows standing together is the best was to survive. Big East and Big Twelve will be case studies in business schools in a decade or two on how to not break up the band by shooing cracks in the armor.

You may not understand where I am coming from, I was around back in the days when the skeletons were being put in the closet originally. ESPN has power but it is not absolute. Granted they are writing the media checks but that only accounts for about 1/3 of the pie. On site is another 1/3 but the final 1/3 is the good old boys who write the checks. Unless ESPN picks up that 1/3 they are never going to have the control you think they have.
Sure ESPN and FOX have the media space monopolized but you need to look at the who picture when it comes to the dollars. As for conference realignment, it has been going on all the time and moves with the speed of mud. The more folks think things change, the more they stay the same with plans taking decades to happen. Media just makes you think it happens quickly because they do not want it out till AFTER the deal is done.
Look when the ACC added schools, no info beforehand and suddenly Syracuse and Pittsburgh are in. Do you honestly believe it happened just that fast?
