I was eating some delicious wings in Springfield today, just watching the national championship with the girl and my roommate when the nastiest damn thing ever walked thru the door.
A parade of Jayhawks began surrounding us as they play Missouri state apparently tomorrow and had little kids asking for autographs, etc. I just wish Springfield was more filled with Mizzou faithful to bust out an MIZ chant like a bonified douche bag and not look like an idiot but it was too risky.

A shithole? I spend time all over the State and I have lived in the KC suburbs, Columbia, and Springfield. I have family in St. Louis. Springfield is my favorite of the four areas.

No, he's right. All of Southern Missouri is a shithole. Especially SW Missouri.

I was overly aggressive with the naming because of how much I hate Mo state, but even then, I didnt like the city at all.
Tho, I havent visited since ...06? So obviously things could have changed.

I love it here for the most part. I mean, there are some bad apples down here but no different than anywhere else. Trailer Parks may be more prevelant... who knows.

Every area of the State has its shitty parts. I don't hang out in trailer parks or ghettos so I can't say whose shitty areas are best. Columbia is the best place to live in the summer when all the students leave. Otherwise, Springfield is best. It has everything you need without the traffic or gang shite. Close to the best rivers and lakes. Great golf courses that aren't overcrowded. Good schools and hospitals. Parking never sucks.

As a post-grad resident I really enjoyed Columbia in the summer; easy parking, short lines, no traffic. As an undergrad it is great to have a community that revolves around the school so much. But if you aren't a student, Columbia is underbuilt and inconvenient during the school year.
I'm sure it wasn't much before the land grant.

blow me. SW MO is beautiful. I live in Joplin. Lots of beautiful creeks/rivers around here and good cost of living. Would like to hear your bs reasoning as to why it is a shithole here.

Basically the whole state is poor outside the major cities. There's lots of poverty in those cities as well.

Living in Springfield myself. Sorry you had to endure that. So many people here are hardcore bears fans and cant get past their own selves to find that hatred for kU.

Think you meant TT not me, I lied in the Springfield area for 10+ years and loved the area.
