Correct. When teams figured out Jalen really couldn't pass beyond 10 yards very well and began to stack the box...our offense began to really struggle against teams with good defenses. Were it not for the fact that our defense and special teams scored so often, we might have lost another game or two due to our offensive struggles down the stretch.

The encouraging thing is if Jalen can take the top off the defense by hitting some deep and intermediate routes this year...our offense should be virtually unstoppable. That's a big IF though.

The problem when Bo got hurt is we didn't have another power back. As already mentioned Harris/Jacobs are smaller/shiftier backs that are awesome when they get a hole but pretty ineffective when they have no room.

Harris is a power back, and he isn't small. He broke a ton of tackles last year. So did Jacobs really.

Not really. He did just that in quite a few games last season. He definitely needs to improve, but I think there is reason to be optimistic.

Here's the frustrating thing about our offense/playcalling last year:

Look at Hurts' first career TD pass

Its 3rd & Long and Jalen just chunks it so one of our WRs can make a play. Where was that in the last month or so of the season? We didn't even try to stretch the defense. Even if it was an incompletion it would've been worth it and an INT that far down field would've been just as good as JK Scott booming another punt through the endzone for a touchback.
