Bragging rights should be fun again.
Walker likely stays with Illinois. Which means Tilmon probably stays. Should be a battle for Smith.

Wow. Didn't see that coming. Pretty good hire.

Good hire, but the news for us will be if Walker stays or not

I have to say nice grab by Illinois all things considered.
Curious why Underwood would bail Okie State after just 1 year.

It is expensive hiring a head coach for a high major program. Underwood has one year of HM experience and a couple of tourney appearances. And he's getting $18M.
The ante has been upped.

Yup. People worrying that we overpaid are going to be surprised with these contracts handed out over the next couple of years.

He was the lowest paid coach in the Big 12.
You guys had a top 5 list thread a while back and I suggested you all go after him because of someone I know at OSU telling me that he had his agent looking around.
His agent had suggested earlier in the season(towards the end when NCAAt appearance was for sure)that they may need to look at his contract again because the built in incentives were not enough. Even with incentives this season, he was still going to be the lowest paid coach in their league. The OSU AD said no, the contract is as it stands, and here we are.
Underwood was looking to get out.
Basically, any OSU coach is fair game. Their AD is still in the mid 90's when it comes to paying coaches and working with contracts. They're just flat out lucky that Gundy is still the HC of the football program. Gundy wanted, and thought he had the Arkansas job before Long hired Bert. Had Baylor not had such a black eye on the program, Gundy would have bolted their this off season.

I wouldn't really say that. I'm not sure how Gundy would do here. I've still got a good feeling inn Bert. Gundy just has massive defensive issues.

Bert's Arkansas teams haven't really been very good defensively either.

He has had a top 10 defense in the nation since arrival. Not sure Gundy has ever, or will ever sniff that.
I suppose this is an opportunity for some of you to troll an opposing fan on your board who is here looking for solid conversation about a basketball coach. Nice try.

Maybe I just have some recency bias. Arkansas was ranked 76 last season.

Congrats?
What's this have to do with Underwood and coaches being easily poachable from Okie Lite?

If you had a halfway decent rep as a non-troll, no one would be trolling you.
