Had this thought because of the double header with UAH. What would y'all think of a one day college basketball event in Alabama during mid to late December? In other words have teams from all over the state play in one arena on a Saturday before conference play and the good bowl games start.

So the schedule would look something like this:

Morning Session
11:00
Alabama A&M vs UAH

1:15
Alabama State vs Samford

3:30
South Alabama vs Jacksonville State

Night Session
6:00
Auburn vs Troy

8:30
Alabama vs UAB

It could be a good way to generate some buzz for basketball after football essentially is over, or it could bomb. Just a thought for a slow period news wise.

I don't think it would work because a lot of smaller schools are fans of the larger school... Like myself UAH/UA and I'm guessing a lot others may have went to multiple state schools.

I think would be better if it was Alabama schools vs out of state teams and rotate 4 other participants yearly to go with Alabama and AU, who would be yearly.

UAH vs UNC Pembroke
Troy vs FGCU
South AL vs Miss St
Jacksonville St vs Tulane
AU vs Texas
Bama vs Florida St
