You can say all that and that's fine, but the fact is UK's win percentage is 12.3% better than Arkansas' win percentage. Arkansas' win percentage is 12.4% better than 13th place Georgia. So the gap in win percentage between 1 and 2 is basically the same as 2 and 13. Kentucky is way out in front in every metric.

No, I understand the point. Yes, Kentucky has a very large gap between #2 Arkansas.

My point was that because of the low number of total games Arkansas has played the gap would continue to widen as the years go on if Arkansas continues at its 18 win per season average, as it has averaged over the course of its history.

I was simply explaining how total years of the program hurt Arkansas in that regard.

Arkansas was 63.7% prior to the 2016 season. Simply going 16-16 and 23-8 the last two years has nudged the program to 64%. The needle will move greater for Arkansas than it will for the other programs.

An 18-win season under the current model of a season with a low 30s game-played total is not helpful. In a best case scenario, you'll play 30 games and thus have won 60% of your games.

It only hurts Arkansas in the sense of total wins. However, as you went to total losses, the same argument goes the other way that of course Arkansas has fewer losses since they've played fewer years. Winning percentage does away with any "years played" differences. The 6% difference in Vandy and Arkansas equates to between 5 and 6 wins over 3 years. At best, you're winning 2 more games a year. All of that to say that Arkansas is not really some stand-alone #2 as you had tried to argue earlier.

Your win% gap would decrease as 18W per season would be less than your current win%
