You're trying to claim wins that were taken from Bama because they cheated and used ineligible players and I'm dumb for calling you out?

It is what it is. Alabama deserved to forfeit the games in 1993. Langham was an idiot for "signing" with an agent and lying.

The textbook case is altogether different. The NCAA was woefully inconsistent in doling out punishment. Ball State and Nebraska had nearly identical cases and scated. It was also a textbook system that any student, not just athletes, benefited from. So not exactly providing benefits to a select few. Just those on academic/athletic scholarships. But I guess Alabama paid for having under staffed compliance under Mike Shula.

Great post. I mean, I don't lose sleep about those games being technically forfeited, but it always blows my mind when people can't discuss this particular issue reasonably within the context of discussions such as this thread, when historical strength is discussed.

It's such an arbitrary and bullshite punishment, particularly in instances where no competitive advantage was directly gained. The NCAA says those wins didn't happen, yet I was sitting in the stands for many of them. I don't know how anyone would take such a retroactive punishment seriously? Did Paterno's total wins really swing back and forth by 100+ wins while the NCAA decided what the frick they wanted to do with that dumpster fire? That's just Orwellian groupthink at its very core.

And then you've got the resident Auburn Kool-Aid drinker up in here lashing out at the "saddest" Bama fans for pointing out the facts on this particular form of punishment, all the while formulating Bama assassin conspiracy theories...all in the same thread! This place is truly one where the loonies thrive.
