Please tell me more about championship teams performing worse without their best player?

What I should have said is Clemson doesn't sniff 10 wins let alone compete in the championship game without Deshaun Watson. Bama could play without Henry in '15 and compete for a championship. Or OJ Howard. Or Calvin Ridley. The point isn't a hypothetical situation it's that Clemson and Bama's depth are not remotely close.

this year's game would not have been close if Clemson didn't have two turnovers to Bama's 0. Last year, Clemson wins without the 4th quarter special teams miscue. you keep talking about depth but Clemson had one of their best days on offense against Alabama the last two seasons.

the truth is Watson didn't play that great in several games to start the season to include at Auburn. Our defense won that game. Watson's interceptions played a big role in Pitt winning at Clemson and almost cost us the game against Lville and NC State.

you guys can't accept fact you lost so you want to make Watson out as some kind of perfect player.

Pitt doesn't have more depth than Alabama and they beat Clemson at Clemson.

speaking of depth, many Bama fans blame the loss on Scarborough being injured, so isn't that that an admission at a lack of depth at RB? or the O-line isn't very good. lol
