I just bought a house here. Ole Miss plans on hitting 30k in enrollment sooner than later, and Oxford is projected to hit 40k residents in the next 10 years. I can't imagine property doing anything but going up for the foreseeable future regardless of football. As long as Ole Miss remains a popular destination for out-of-state high school graduates and retirees, as well as Mississippians looking to take advantage of one of a handful of economic bright spots in the state, homes should be a solid investment.

We moved in this week. I've missed the South SO much.
Great people, warm weather, and plenty of green.
We bought in Batesville and got an awesome deal on a 3700 Sq ft house, plus 4 car garage, pool, hot tub, 5 acres and a 2 acre stocked bass pond.
We only have 6 other houses in our community and everyone has been awesome.
Neighbors cut our grass, weed eated, and weeded flower beds; brought us dinner + dessert as a welcome ... awesome folks.
Buying in Oxford is closer, but the surrounding communities offer a lot more for the money and we're still within 25 min from campus.
