Once Cullen and Vitello were gone, Jamison's teams leveled out and there was very little to be excited about last year other than Houck and McClain. McClain was a game above .500 for his career and got two years of the worst run support possible.
As another poster stated, its early. I would counter with the fact that they weren't hitting .350 as a team 9 games into any of the last 5 seasons under Jamison.
The team is still short on talent but Bond and Brumfield aren't the same players at the plate. Glendinning, Berier and Misner have made nice contributions as Fr.
They are 9-1 and the Ace of the staff just had his best game of the year. There is plenty to like so far.

Probably can't separate it from this comment but I'd say that when there was no Scherzer and Crow, there wasn't much to get excited about.
