Bama baseball was pretty bad in the late 80's. I can remember going to games when they just had the bleachers you see at the little league fields, and there'd be about 20 people there. I think the entire SEC except MSU and LSU were pretty bad then though.


Really in my life, the program has been pretty average overall. A few good years in the early 80's, and the Wells era were the high points. Wells should have won it all in 97. Roberto Vaz's freak injury derailed that shot. Those teams were so fun to watch.

The mid-late 90's Alabama teams were elite. The early 2000s Alabama teams were generally Top 25 teams. The end of Wells and Gaspard were bubble teams. And now we are the worst team in the history of the SEC.
