Do you think with LSU completely crapping the bed and looking as bad as they have this year it will help us with tye top corners both of us are after? I know it can't hurt, I'm just wondering if it will truly help out.

So I don’t keep up with recruiting a lot. Is our 2018 class really that bad (currently ranked #34 by Rivals)? If so, what’s the issue? Don’t have open spots? Saban lost his touch? What’s going on?

Does Bama have any EE guys committed right now?

Hosting early enrolle and OSU commit Brenton Cox on an OV over the weekend was huge. What's ironic is he is rumored to be the recruit Nick was driving to campus when we found out the committee chose us over Ohio State.

Andres Fox did not make it in for his scheduled OV this weekend.

Haven't followed recruiting at all until I looked at this thread today. What I've heard is that this is a pretty down year for us in recruiting. What I see on 247 rankings is that we are rated #9 right now with 14 commits and have the third highest average after Ohio State and Texas.
What is the feeling on how this class is shaping up? I'm not worried if we "only" end up with a top 10 class but are we getting the guys we want at the positions we need?
Who the the top 5 guys we need to get to finish how we want?

Nation's No. 2 punter has big job of filling JK Scott's shoes at Alabama
quote:
Skyler DeLong
School: Nation Ford (Fort Mill, S.C.)
Position: Punter
Height/weight: 6-foot-4, 180 pounds
Also considered: Tennessee
247Sports composite ranking: DeLong is a two-star recruit, rated as the No. 1,503 prospect nationally, the No. 2 punter and No. 28 prospect from South Carolina.
How he fits into Alabama's plans: This one is fairly straight forward. Four-year starter (and two-time Ray Guy Award finalist) JK Scott is graduating and Alabama needs a new punter. The recruiting rankings for punters and kickers are traditionally hard to judge since the No. 2 punter in the country just missed the top 1,500 players overall.
Projection for 2018: He'll be the only scholarship punter on the roster, so it's his job to lose. The last three punters started from Day 1 and played four years starting with P.J. Fitzgerald (2006-09), Cody Mandell (2010-13) and Scott (2014-present). Each had big careers so DeLong would be only the fourth punter of the Saban era. Joseph Bulovas, who'll be a redshirt freshman kicker, also has experience as a punter.

If we can sign all our committed guys and finish with
Foster- QB
Ross- WR
Petit-Frere- LT/RT
Sewell- LG/RT (Pipedream)
Langham- DE

This class would be right up there with every other great signing day class

I haven't followed recruiting close this year, but have a question for those who have. Is the Purdy offer a last minute offer just to get a QB in this class because of depth issues if another QB transfers? How is this guy worthy of a Bama offer if he doesn't have offers from any AZ schools, any Pac12 or Big 12 schools?

Maybe this has been discussed ad nauseam but I wonder how the conversations between Surtain JR and Campbell are going? If they truly don't want to play together I can't imagine how hard this has to be for both parties.

I don't know what it is but this final recruiting stretch is leaving me exhausted lol. I'll be glad when NSD comes and goes.
