i actually agree with a lot of the OP. i started out as an Obama hater early on and then softened a bit in my early 30s.
I'm the exact opposite. I started of knowing I'd disagree with a lot of his politics but being very hopeful that he'd use is position to improve race relations and be an inspiration to young black men. I really thought he had a great chance to be a positive influence on a lot of lives.
I grew to despise him when I saw that instead of doing that, he was going all in with the 'blame whitey and frick the police' movement.

oh don't get me wrong. it's his single greatest failure in my mind. i guess maybe i just learned i don't know everything in the world and that different people grew up with different perspectives. i'm not always right.
that being said, i'm still firmly convinced that he didn't have a single good move as president outside of calling Kanye a jackass
