The fact of the matter is, his play was a liability on Monday. Clemson had so little respect for the pass that they were playing 9 guys in the box at certain points. Yes, he was a true freshman and that excuses it to an extent. But to say criticism is totally unwarranted is just flat out inaccurate.

My frustration isn't with the criticism. Ive been critical of him at times (not much because I understand how fortunate we are with him).

My frustration is with the overly critical ones who are already crowing Tua and thinks he could outperform Hurts next year. THOSE are the goofballs Im referring to when said what I said about their perceived motives.

Nobody is above criticism. But some of the posters here are outright lunatics.

The reality is Tua COULD beat him out. However, usually the most growth players (especially QBs) experience is from their first year to their second year. The above reference to Sims is also instructive. Remember how god-awful he looked in the spring game? Then turned into an SEC champion QB. Hurts is miles past Sims development at this stage.
