Your argument is similar to those made by Free Shoes and Tater fans who coast through the ACC season with few challenges then look good in the post season and crow about how well they would do in the SEC. Problem is they are not playing the SEC schedule and while they would still do well, an extra loss or two each and every season would not exactly be putting them in the same post season bowls they now enjoy.

None of this happens in a Vacuum, in fact OU added to a version of the SEC West would make it harder for all involved, OU, Alabama and LSU. But be clear, OU would be in the mix more often than not. But this rubs both ways, right now OU HAS to be perfect, but with eSECpn Hype they would get the benefit of the doubt with a few losses, justified or not.
All of this being said, it is going to be difficult for OU to go anywhere and keep its very lucrative relationship with Texas and avoid State Politics from a break with Okie Light. I agree with you that OU is on a collision course with disaster, trying to play both sides against the middle. It will be interesting to see if OU lands on its feet, I think it will, but it may be painful.

OU's rivals aren't in the SEC. If Big 12 breaks up, i'd be fine with OU being in any major conference. To me the BIg 10 seems to be the best fit and then the SEC. I'd like to see OU play Nebraska every year again. I think OU and UT will continue to play at the fair for a long time regardless of conference affiliation. I do hope OSU remains in the same conference as OU for both the rivalry and quite frankly they have good athletic programs. Much more decorated than A&M for sure...

For original poster, why do you even care? OU and A&M aren't historical rivals. I do hope OU meets A&M in a postseason game. I think OU fans will be pleased when the matchup comes around again.
